INDULGENCE
MY culture is one of complete excess—moderation is rare. Once we’ve tasted, it’s over. All we want is that thing…it’s different for every person, but each person knows what that one things is. It’s a dangerous thing. Usually that thing is good and satisfies in the moment. And it is meant to be good, but when unchecked it turns into a master, a defining factor in our decisions. It becomes the only option. The only desire.
Never. the. less., deep in the core of my soul is a more pure desire is to please another master. Since one can only serve one master, the first obsessive master must be put away. It must be starved. It must die. It must no longer be a motivation. It must no longer be a decision maker. It must no longer rule.
Captain of the Culture…there’s a mutiny a’brewin.
